@pearl: HOW DO I EXPLAIN. Okay there's this thing known as the NATO spelling alphabet, and it's a way of saying words to mean letters. It's used in radio-telephony to express letters to Air Traffic Control, to prevent confusion between similar sounding letters (e.g. 'b' and 'd'), so for example you would say 'Alpha' instead of 'A', 'Bravo' instead of 'B', etc. Each aircraft has a registration, which in SYFC is YFX (where 'X' represents any letter). So the aircraft I flew that day was registered as YFH, and we call it Hotel (the 'Yankee Foxtrot' part is in every SYFC plane) :D

I don't actually know which concert it's from otherwise I would label it.

OH YES we were talking about ~passions~ today and well. I don't think we're too young to have passions, certainly not, but I don't think it's the end of the world if we haven't found something we're passionate about; we are still young after all. But we don't need to have a passion for, say, science or business to consider it as a career option; there are thousands of careers in the world, hundreds of which we've never even encountered or considered, and these could be where our passions lie. We're still young, of course, and there's still time (:
What's 'passion' and 'inspiration' in Japanese? In Chinese they're 激情 and 灵感 respectively (I had to Google them because I forgot...) and the same word in French, and I'm not good enough in Japanese to discern which of the many synonyms are the right one. ひらめき (for 'inspiration') rings a bell though, but I'm sure there's Kanji for it yet I don't know which is right.
Anyway I wanted to check the translations for it because I wanted to see the characters. I'm reading Grotesque, and the narrator's grandfather is obsessed with inspration. He talks about the ideographs and asks someone about the etymology, so I wanted to see it for myself. But I can't find it. Well. And somehow, '灵感' doesn't strike me the way 'inspiration' does. 灵感 feels like... like 灵感, you know? Oh language and its subtle nuances. But inspiration gives me this wholesome feeling, like it doesn't have to be an idea but a concept, feeling inspired doesn't necessitate the beginnings of a plan or an idea but can be just... the feeling of being inspired.
'Passion' was just something I found for the fun of it. And I just googled a bunch of other words HAHA I'm crazy but. Languages and etymology are fascinating, and etymology is exciting enough when it's in letters but even more so when it's in ideographs. (What's it called? AH YES phonographic VS logographic? Although English is still logographic. Hmmm.)
ALSO guys guys I am going to try to learn shorthand so I will be the MOST efficient note-taker in JC :D :D GOOD LUCK SELF. But I have a natural talent for learning characters fast so :D (Not characters as in Chinese/Kanji, but in replacement of the roman alphabet. I'm mostly useless when it comes to Asian languages. That goes for Korean too lol. Today we saw a person with a 'Sunny' nametag on her bag and Celine started giggling straight away and I was all, UMMMM.)

Today when I left for dinner, the sun had barely set so Eastward the sky was midnight blue, but Westward it was a deep electric blue. My brother asked "Where's Venus?" and I looked up, Eastward, saw that it was still relatively bright for night, and said it wasn't out yet, but when my eyes cast Westward I saw the bright spot in the sky and we said, together, "there it is." It's called the Evening Star for a reason.
I caught Orion today too :D It took me a few minutes of real staring at the sky but I caught it. ♥
Also my brother said that when he was young, he thought the stars were the tears of the sun. That's poetic, even if he doesn't get it.
